This Mother’s Day, we’re shining a light on Harley as a mom, in all her weird, wonderful forms. Proving that motherhood, much like Harley herself, is messy, unpredictable, and powerful as hell.

In the Injustice Universe, many were surprised when Harley dropped a massive bomb on everyone with the reveal of her daughter – Lucy Quinzel. When she discovered she was pregnant with the Joker’s child, Harley left for a year to hide the fact Joker was going to be a father from him, and hopefully keep his influence away from their daughter. She left Lucy with her sister, and when she returned to the Joker, not only was he none the wiser to her pregnancy – he hadn’t really cared she was gone at all.

This was a beautiful introduction to motherhood for Harley as a character, showing her desire to break abusive cycles and prioritize her little girl over everything else.

Harley Quinn in the Batman: White Knight Universe is arguably one of my favorite Harleys to ever exist. She has a duality between villain and hero, her intelligence shines, and most notably for today’s post – it shows, through multiple series, how Harley would be raising twin offspring of the Joker. And honestly, it really suits her, in so many ways.

And of course, how can we not mention Neytiri, also known as Princess Ladyfingers, from the Harley Quinn Animated Series universe – the daughter of Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy in a potential post-apocalyptic future.

Last, and most certainly not least, the babies – whether it is Bud and Lou, or even Bruce in Birds of Prey – the hyenas are obviously just as much Harley’s babies as her own physical children. So fellow pet moms – it’s your day too.
