The Psychology of a Harley Quinn Collector: What Your Collection Says About You

Let’s face it – collecting Harley Quinn merch isn’t just about having cool stuff. It’s a lifestyle. A love language. A full-blown identity. (At least, for me.)

And like any good antihero, your personal version of Harley says a lot about who you are deep down—whether you realize it or not. So let’s psychoanalyze you, Dr. Quinzel style.

The Multiverse of Harleys: One Clown, Infinite Variants

Harley is the perfect multiverse character – her identity is constantly in flux, shaped by her choices, lovers, traumas, and the world around her. She can be a tragic figure, a chaotic clown, or a badass survivor… sometimes all in one panel.

Let’s take a moment to explore some various Harleys:

The Wonderful Weird World of Wacky Harleys

Hello everyone! My name is Ari and I am a fellow Harley Quinn fanatic and owner of @arisharleys on instagram and harleyoftheday on tumblr. I am so honored to have been given the invite to become a writer on this blog!

While working on my daily Harley merch blog I’ve spent hours up in the “bowels of the internet” digging and scrounging up as many Harley figures and plush as I can. As one may imagine my travels have led me to see some weird things, and for my first post here I’d like to share some of them with you.

Harlequin: The Significance of Harley Quinn’s Inspiration

If you missed our Spoiler-Free Joker: Folie à Deux review, check it out!

I was ecstatic when Lady Gaga was announced as the newest live action actor for Harley Quinn. I remember years ago, after seeing the Bad Romance music video, telling friends at the time that it had a very Harley Quinn vibe to it – granted, this was back when almost no one knew who Harley was, so they just took my word for it.

“Before the Suicide Squad sets their sights on the corrupted Justice League in the upcoming videogame Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, join us for this thrilling prequel and witness them kill Arkham Asylum! Amanda Waller has taken control of the recently rebuilt Arkham, and her brutal tactics and merciless methods have led to the most secure asylum Gotham has ever known. Fun Fact Friday | 3 | Justice League: Snyder Cut Reference

I always found this to be one of the most interesting additions, and bits of dialogue, in the Snyder Cut of Justice League. I also rarely see it mentioned. Batman making a promise, on behalf of Harley Quinn, that he will kill the Joker. The tension of the moment and Joker’s reaction to this mention of Harley as well as what she wanted to happen to him were both things that made me interested in knowing what brought this about.

But, I suppose we will be left to wonder forever.

Review – Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

My most anticipated game for years, and oddly one of the most controversial games released recently (at least on my radar), Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been out a over a month now. I had early access and got to begin playing the game before regular players – and I am still playing, and loving, the game.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Prop Replica Bat by LeftBrainCo

In my own personal collection, I’ve wanted to start adding more prop replicas to my shelves. And I was lucky to have recently become friends with the incredible LeftBrainCo – a fellow Harley Quinn fan and collector. Not only has he given me insight into the world of buying things from movies, but also shown off his incredible talents in prop making.

Fun Fact Friday | 2 | Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Arleen Sorkin Tribute

Many alright heard about this little easter egg, but for those that weren’t aware:

Within the Hall of Justice in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, there is a tribute on the wall in memory of the original Harley Quinn – Arleen Sorkin. Also in the room, to the right of Arleen, is a tribute to Kevin Conroy – our beloved Batman. His final performance as the Bat was Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

It seemed appropriate when I took the screenshot in my game to have Harley in her classic outfit.
